The key aim of Friday Sailing sessions is to have fun! Friday Sailing is run by a team of volunteers.

    2) The beginner groups are aimed at those who have not yet obtained their level/stage 2 or would perhaps prefer to sail with an experienced instructor to gain confidence.

    3) All members should ensure they have appropriate equipment for the weather and conditions, to include personal buoyancy. Please also remember that it can get cold on the water, at any time of year.

    4) ELYC cannot supply buoyancy aids and helmets for use during Friday Sailing.

    5) Under 18's require a parental consent form which must be completed and passed to the event organisers.

    6) Registration is required to ensure we can provide adequate safety cover on the night.

Learn to sail weeks are aimed at complete beginners and will work towards RYA Stage 1 & 2 certificates.

We will not take anyone under 11 years on the Learn to Sail courses.

There is a maximum of 12 participants on these courses.

Participants should be confident in the water and be able to swim 50m in light clothing.

ELYC summer programs are run by a professional team with some voluntary help, and look to provide a basic understanding of sailing, and where possible award certificates. However, it should be noted that this is not always possible as the weather can provide some challenging conditions.

Certificates are awarded through the RYA scheme, and only awarded when skills can be shown at the correct level. The club takes no responsibility for the completion of certificates. Where possible we will try to help out but it is important that junior sailors are presented with the right skill level for the course they wish to do.

Further information on the RYA courses we plan to deliver are available on the RYA website.

    Courses are run Monday – Friday 09:30 – 4.30pm

This course costs £185 and is only available to club members. For more information on membership and to join the club  click here.  Once you have signed up as a member you will be able to book the course here.

    Race Camp 2018!

This year Iain McGonigal, one of our finest club racers and one of our Go Racing coaches, will be running a summer race camp with some of our racing instructors.  This race camp is ideal for anybody who takes part in Go Racing and Friday Sailing and wants to spend three days on the water learning from the best.

The camp will consist of doing exercises to work on your boat speed, thing about tactics, practising starting and of course getting some proper racing in over the three days.

Club boats are available to use for the camp and can be booked by using the 'Club Topper' or '2000' registration option. If you ave your own boat, please use the 'Own boat (single hander)' or 'Own boat (double hander)' registration option. Please note that the booking option for a club 2000 or your own double hander is the price for two people.

Please note: there will be no RYA certificates awarded. This is three days of coaching for those who participate in our club activities, such as Go Racing or Friday Sailing. Coaching will be provided but participants must be comfortable rigging and sailing a club boat/their boat by themselves. We will not take anyone under 11 years of age.

Participants should be confident in the water and be able to swim 50m in light clothing.

    Times are TBC.

By booking a place on this race camp you agree to our terms and conditions.

    Fun Friday

The key aim of Friday Sailing sessions is to have fun! Friday Sailing is a great opportunity to get out on the water and practice the skills you have learnt or have a relaxing sail at the end of the week in a safe, friendly, structured and controlled environment. Friday Sailing is run by a team of volunteers.

    Important Information for Participants

    1) All sailors registering for advanced groups must have their Stage 2 (youth) or Level 2 (adult) or equivalent and be confident enough to helm a boat in reasonable conditions.

Further details can be found here.
