Huge congrats to our very own Roo Purves who finished an outstanding 3rd place in the Topper class at the recent RYA Scottish Youth and Junior Championships at Dalgety Bay!

The 26th August marked the closing of a highly successful season of "Go Racing", which has been running throughout the summer on Monday evenings.
Designed to help both adults and children confidently participate in club racing activities, Go Racing is open to anyone who holds a minimum of RYA Level 2 / Stage 2 certificates or equivalent.
The Go Racing evenings are structured with an onshore briefing, multiple short handicap races followed by an onshore de-brief. Over the course of the season the team, led by Iain McGonigal, cover a wide range of sailing and racing areas to help you gain confidence around the race course. The team is made up of club volunteers who are themselves, active and experienced club racers.
This season saw a well attended Spring series which consisted of 17 races and 28 competitors. Hot on its heels was the Go Racing Summer series, which brought us 9 exciting races with an incredible 42 competitors!
The final races on the 26th August were dubbed "The Last Blast" where it was all to play for between Rory Ferrier, Roo Purves and Fraser Davidson for top spot. With an amazing 24 boats arriving at the start line it was obvious that this group of keen racers were determined to make the most of the last two Monday evening races this years series had to offer.
Rory Ferrier did just enough to fend off Roo Purves to add to his Spring Series success earlier in the year, with just 3 points separating the pair after all races were run.
Its not all about being the quickest though, with a variety of achievements being rewarded with spot prizes during the series.
You can view pictures of the Last Blast and the prize giving which followed in this album. You can also view the final results here.
Well done to all who participated in Go Racing this year! We cant wait to see you all out at the start line for Saturday racing!
A huge thank you to all the club members who helped make Go Racing this season a huge success.

Many thanks to everyone involved in running a very enjoyable Closed Regatta at the weekend.
To Paul and Fi for putting together a great format, about which I heard many a positive comment in the bar.
To the teams on the rescue boats who gave up their days to lay courses and provide safety cover.
To the social team, bar tenders and BBQ providers who helped quench thirst and silence rumbling tums after the racing.
More importantly though, it was great to see so many boats, new and regular, on the start line.
You can discuss this topic on the club forums.
Very well done to Iain McGonigal who finished a superb 16th at the RS Aero European Championships at Malcesine, Garda, Italy.
In an event which featured an incredibly strong lineup, Iain took to the water in his Aero 7 in a 63 boat fleet and scored consistently well throughout the week. The highlight being an amazing 3rd place in race 3! This was enough to also see Iain claim 2nd Master overall.
Well done Iain. You've done us proud again!
