Fun-draiser Success!

20 Dec 2023 9:55 AM | Millar (Administrator)

The Hole in the Wall Fun-draiser event was held at the club on Saturday 16th December. The organisers hope everyone that attended had a great time and enjoyed the music, games and special Christmas cocktails. Photographs from the event can be viewed here.

The evening was a huge success, raising a fantastic £1541.10 for the cause, and would not have been as successful were it not for the generosity of the following people

  • Mandy Haeburn-Little from Mandy Paints kindly donated three wonderful prints.
  • The Scottish Seabird Centre donated an annual family membership.
  • Fringe by the Sea donated a £50 voucher.
  • Bonzo-Art donated a beautiful print featuring the East Beach.
  • The LobsterShack donated a £25 voucher.
  • The Rocketeer Restaurant donated a £25 voucher.
  • Lorraine McDonnell Wellness, Nutrition and Fitness donated Wim-Hof workshop voucher.
  • Steve Fraser donated a personalised drone footage session.
  • Modus Scotland donated a laptop.
  • Donald McKinnon donated rib tickets as prizes for the cadet party which was help in the café on the night.
  • Vino Wines donated a bottle of red and white wine.
  • Harry Wood donated an architectural consultation.
  • Various club members including Jeanette & Andrew Rear, John & Debbie Wilcox, Harry Wood, Elaine Martin, Neil Mackinnon (apologies to anyone missing) donated items that were made into various amazing gift hampers.
  • Sailingfast donated a Harken rucksack, hats, t-shirts and water bottles.
  • Gordon from Great Escape donated winter socks.

Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who attended, purchased tickets, dragged friends along and contributed to the cause by helping out. It's a long list.

As many of you will have noticed, our clubhouse roof is leaking, with tubs in the café and buckets in the attic, it’s clear that it now needs to be replaced to protect our much-loved clubhouse for the future.

The good news is that work is underway. Planning permission has been granted, and the project is expected to cost around £50,000. We’ve already secured a £5,000 grant from the North Berwick Trust, are applying for more funding, and will carefully use club reserves while keeping the club financially secure.

Fundraising will play an important part, and we’re keen to make this a fun and engaging process for everyone. Our target for this year, 2026, is £5,000. There are lots of ways to get involved

  • Buy a ticket for the 100 Club
  • Simply donate, using this link, or at the bar.
  • Attend fund raising events.

If you’re interested in helping with grant applications, have ideas for fundraising, or would simply like to know more, we’d love to hear from you!
