ELYC endeavours to run all courses advertised on the website but if a course is not viable due to lack of places booked or for any other operational reason it reserves the right to cancel the course. Generally, courses will need to achieve a minimum of 50% of places booked before they will run.
Should ELYC cancel a course it will try in the first instance to accommodate you on an alternative, equivalent course. If this does not suit you, you will receive a full refund of the course fee.
All training bookings must be made online and ELYC requests payment to be made online using PayPal or credit card. If this is not possible will also accept payment by cheque or cash. Payments by cheque or cash should be placed in an envelope with the trainee’s name, course and date written clearly on the envelope and this should be handed in to the Training Principal, Chief Instructor or Commodore. If paying manually, all bookings must be paid within 30 days of booking or your place will be forfeited, notwithstanding the cancellation policy below.
Once you have booked a place the course fee is then due whether you attend or not. ELYC reserves the right to recover any outstanding course fees. You will not be allowed to participate in a training course unless the course fee has been paid in full.
In the event of adverse weather or other conditions which in the opinion of ELYC renders on-water training inappropriate, ELYC will provide relevant on-shore training activity and no course fee refund will be made.
By attending a course, there is no guarantee that a certificate or pass will be awarded. ELYC run RYA accredited courses and as such the participant must achieve the necessary skill levels to successfully complete the course.

Cancellations should be made by email to trainingprincipal@elyc.org.uk.
You will need to ensure that you receive a cancellation acknowledgement email. Refunds will not include the processing fees made by PayPal or other agency for the transactions.
