This is a great activity for those who have just completed a beginners course, are confident sailing on their own and are looking to develop their skills and confidence, or just want to go out for a sail knowing that there will be a rescue boat on hand. The start time is approx. 1830hrs and finish time around 2100hrs dependent on daylight.
These evenings are aimed to help both adults and children develop their skills and improve their confidence on the water. These sessions are open to anyone who holds a minimum of RYA Level 2 / Stage 2 certificates or equivalent.
The evening is structured with an onshore briefing which will include identifying the designated sailing area for the evening and then either 'free' sailing within the designated sailing area or participating in some fun games / activities on the water aimed to improve your boat handling skills.
In the case of bad weather permitting an on water session then the team may decide to run a short shore based session dependent on interest.
Its is our aim that the club Bar will be open after sailing to allow some relaxing and chatting post session.
This club sailing activity is run by club volunteers and has no charge unless you require to hire a club boat. The cost of hiring a Topper is £5 and a Laser 2000s is £10 (please note 2 people are required to sail a Laser 2000). Please bring the cash for the boat hire with you on the evening.
Please note that under 18's must have parental consent to take part in tis activity. Please speak to the OOD on the evening.
