Jim Fergus, who celebrated his 100th birthday in April passed away peacefully in Stirling on 31 May 2015.  The funeral takes place on Friday 5th June at 1pm at Falkirk Crematorium and the family would be delighted to see anyone from the club.

At the Forth Ports Authority meeting for small harbours and clubs recently, it was advised that they provide weather and, more particularly, live tidal information for various locations in the estuary, including Methil and Leith.

The tidal information gives a real time comparison of predicted and actual tidal height. This comparison from nearby locations could be combined with tidal predictions for Fidra from the UK Hydrographic Office Admiralty EasyTide website to give some indication of actual tidal heights at North Berwick. Presumably this may not fully take into account onshore wind but the wind will be known from the clubs own measurements, and these comparisons from Leith and Methil should give an indication of the effect of atmospheric pressure on tidal height.
