Powerboat Training 2016

The club has a very active racing and regatta programme, and there is always a need for competent powerboat drivers to help out with these activities. To that end, a programme of training courses will be run in 2016.

Powerboat Level 2 Course

The minimum level that the club would expect a Safety Boat driver to use. This course can also be used for the basis of an International Certificate of Competence (Power).

Safety Boat Course

This two day course provides the skills required when acting as an escort craft, safety boat or a coach boat for a fleet of dinghies, windsurfers or canoes, or for racing and training activities.

Mark Laying Course

This is a weekend course that will go over the fundamentals of how we lay marks using GPS for the club regatta and events that are held at ELYC.

You must be a member of the club to participate in any of the sessions - the Rescue Boat Workshop requires a minimum of a Powerboat Level 2 Certificate to participate..

If you are interested in getting involved with any of these sessions please email chiefinstructor@elyc.org.uk or training principal@elyc.org.uk.
