Go Racing is for anyone who wants to get into racing or see what it is all about. These sessions will run every Monday from May until August run by volunteers who race regularly at the club.
Depending on the weather, there will be lots of short races so you get lots of practice of starting, the first beat, mark roundings and sailing downwind thinking about the five essentials and how to get your boat to go as fast as possible. There will be coaches in RIBS helping you round the course and giving you advice.
If a senior instructor is present, they can sign off your RYA logbook to reflect your progress.
There will be a briefing at 1830 in the wet lecture room, so please make sure you attend this so you know what the plan for the evening is.
Booking is only required if you require to hire a topper or 2000.
The club asks for a £5 hire fee for a Topper and £10 for a 2000 (double hander). We ask that this is put in the marked envelopes which can be found on the back of the clubhouse door and place in the boat hire box. If you can’t find them please ask a club member.
Mast head floats must be used when taking a 2000 out.
Please note 2000s are unavailable for this event.
