The intention is to run the RYA Stage 3 & 4 in these courses, however, should skill and weather permit, it is possible that the course may include Sailing with Spinnakers, Day Sailing, Seamanship Skills, Start Racing or Performance Sailing. It should be noted that if your child has not sailed since attending a Stage 2 course, it is unlikely that they will pass a Stage 3 certificate.
Certificates are awarded through the RYA scheme, and only awarded when skills can be shown at the correct level. The club takes no responsibility for the completion of certificates. Where possible we will try to help out but it is important that sailors are presented at the right level for the course they wish to do.
Ideally you will have achieved RYA stage 1 & 2 or can demonstrate suitable experience, this may be checked by emailing the Training Officer.
You must be over 11 years old and be a cadet member of the club to take part on this course.
ELYC holiday programmes are run by a professional team with some voluntary help, and look to provide a basic understanding of sailing, and where possible award certificates. It should be noted that this is not always possible as the weather can provide some challenging conditions.
